I am a museum Curator and I want to find fundraising events that would get people to support a local museum?
Possibilities? Check your back/storeroom for different items that could be put on display. Are there any objects in your current exhibits that can be recombined to create a theme that would attract museum goers? Examples: Farm implements Past to Present; History of Pottery in the Americas (precolumbian to 21st century m production), Sheep to Shawl (with the local spinning guild), A local holiday/event exhibit (receive on loan, items from local community members). A celebratory opening for each new exhibit. Door prizes, raffles (buy at wholesale, die-cast metal John Deere tractors for the farm impl. exhibit). It IS hard to come up with innovative fund-raisers, espesially when there is not much money to begin with.
