When did liberals abandoned the individual for the collective?

Long, Long ago....The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few...Many people are hurting, so the few who can should help.....Help one and help all...After WWII, vets returned home to a GI bil, went to school, got jobs, paid taxes, raised family's who got jobs, paid taxes...etc...By helping all we help ourselves...Worked well for awhile.
