What happens if you have bronchitis and you don't take care of it?

i got this really bad cough, my chest hurts so bad, and i feel like my whole body aches. i did have a sore throut and stuffy nose. then one day it went away. unfortunitly the next day i woke up with all this. i'm the type of person that doesn't go to the docter if i don't absolutly have to, but what would happen if it was bronchitis and i didn't take care of it?
